Chris Duncan is an Oakland-based artist who employs repetition and accumulation as a basis for experiments in visual- and sound-based media. Often in flux between maximal and minimal, his work is a constant balancing act of positive or negative, loud or quite, solitary or participatory; and tends to lead towards questions regarding perception, experience and transcendence. Outside of his studio practice, Chris, with his wife, organizes events and run a small artist book press and record label called LAND AND SEA. He earned a BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts and a Masters in Art Practice from Stanford University. In the summer of 2014, Chris began to perform sound works under the moniker- OFFING.

Words is a series of photocopied and risograph works and [an?] offset printed book that export the repetition of a word or phrase. With distance the work transforms into minimal patterns.
